Coming Out of the Ordinary-Finding A Different Way
Entertaining thoughts of a life lived differently, out of the ordinary, or unconventional can be frightening for many. Doing things the way you’ve always done it or the way your family did it, or the way others expect you to do it, is much easier. Somehow the acceptable way to do things is nice and neat and predictable; like the way to earn money, or raise your children or find a mate etc.
Years ago for example, many thought that finding a mate through online dating was not only lame and desperate, but a little bit freaky as well. The fact that many an online dater would have shied away from divulging such information even to their closest of friends, while having themselves out there for the whole world to see, was indeed an irony. They rode the unconventional cyber wave though, while their friends succumbed to second hand smoke, overpriced drinks and tacky come-ons in overcrowded clubs/lounges filled with desperate singles. Today there are many who took this unconventional route when it wasn’t so popular who have now found their soul mates.
I believe that our lives give us signs to prompt us to do things that aren’t so popular, to get off the radar screen of the acceptable, and do things differently. Some of these are more obvious than others, but all of them when they appear, are Red Alerts demanding our attention. These signs may include:

Four Reasons Why You Should Avoid Skipping Lunch at Work
Too many of us have become almost martyrs for the sake of the job, and often times even boast about skipping lunch because we just did not have the time for it. In a recent national survey by the top rated Juice Bar, Smoothie King, 58% of Americans admitted that they could easily skip lunch if too busy. Lack of time and a demanding, on-the-go lifestyle are often cited as reasons for skipping lunch.
In the case of workers, there also appears to be pressure to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Yes there is always the occasion when a missed lunch is inevitable, but this should not be the norm. It's as if these days, having lunch has become poor work ethics. When did this happen?
