I had read a self-help book recently in which there was an exercise to write down 101 wishes with the knowledge that you had total freedom and there was nothing holding you back in way of your own perceived obstacles, and every assurance that you were getting what you wanted. Essentially the exercise was urging you to completely let go of all inhibitions and to commit to writing your deepest desires and wishes. The bigger, the better.
Within 10 minutes through my wish list, I had already accumulated 75 wishes. I was on a role and was somewhat surprised at how far the mind can go when it allowed to 'play'. It was very freeing ; for a moment you are totally liberated.
I think we all have a wish list where we allow our true desires or wishes to ring through. Sometimes we wish half-heartedly-it’s entertaining and makes us feel good for a while, but we don’t really expect much from it.
But wishes can and should be much more. That’s why I wanted to expand the original wish list idea and create a master wish list, a 1001 Wish List shared by others throughout the US and beyond. Writing a wish on a paper that is most likely tossed and forgotten does not hold a torch to having one that is shared, as a reminder and inspiration to others to fill the greatest space in their lives and those of others. If nothing else a wish-ours and others-prompts us to want more.
Since I wrote my wishes, I often go back to them when I need inspiration. I believe the 1001 Wish Project could do the same for others. I want to accumulate 1001 wishes some of which will be showcased on a section of this webpage called "Greatest Wishes, Deepest Desires". When I’ve started accumulating enough wishes, I will begin including them in an ebook PDF format which everyone can download for free. I will update this ebook as I receive more entries.
